OUR MISSION

Functional Fusion was born out of frustration. After receiving numerous treatments from various methods, we were left thinking there must be another option. Now you have found it.
People are having to live with chronic lower back pain, and receiving treatment that is only masking or temporarily relieving their symptoms; this isn't helpful, and is a waste of time and energy.
Functional Fusion's primary aim is to arm people with the knowledge and power to live a back pain-free life. Gone are the days where you have to keep returning to the same physiotherapist, chiropractor, or osteopath, for the same problem. We'll train you to kick your pain into touch, and live your life how you want to.

Avoid joining that statistic with proper movement and strength

DAN WHITE
Owner, trainer, spinal fusion recipient
During an operational tour with the British Army in 2012, I began experiencing sciatic pain down my left leg. Years of back and sciatic pain ensued and I was eventually diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis and a bi lateral pars defect of the L5 vertabrae, with spinal stenosis. After service with the military, I re-trained as a personal trainer as my passion was in fitness. Having my fitness goals hampered by my spinal fracture, I worked with numerous physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths which only masked the problem. Despite living an active lifestyle, I was tired of the pain and feeling held back by it. Feeling as though I had exhausted all options, I underwent an ALIF fusion with posterior fixation of L4-S1 in 2023. Post surgery, I engaged in functional movement training which has led to me living a pain-free life.

The surgery stabilised my spine, but I knew I needed to focus on my movement and trained to move my body correctly; without that, I feel the surgery would have been a waste of time. I can't help but wonder if surgery would have even been necessary if I engaged in functional movement training prior to surgery; I'll never know, but hopefully you will.
